Ja-Ru is a Florida based toy company with offices and showrooms in Jacksonville, Florida, and Hong Kong. Ja-Ru is family-owned and has been in operation for three generations. Ja-Ru was founded in 1961 by Bernard (Bernie) Selevan, who started the company in his garage. Bernie named the company after his two sons, Jack and Russell, who later entered the business in 1969 and 1975, respectively. Jack and Russell along with Jack’s two sons, Marc and Andrew oversee the business. Recently, Russell’s daughter, Hope joined Ja-Ru.

Marc, Andrew and Hope are part of the third generation, and are poised to do their part to move the company forward with the same vision and passion imparted by the founder Bernie, and his sons, Jack and Russell. We are also very fortunate to have other key employees that have been with the company for many years and have the same passion for the business.

Since opening in 1961, Ja-Ru has become the leading supplier of impulse toys worldwide. Ja-Ru strives to manufacture and distribute only toys of the highest quality with maximum play value. Ja-Ru’s primary focus is always on toy safety. Ja-Ru takes great pride in their toys and industry-leading package design.

Ja-Ru’s headquarters and 380,000 sq ft national distribution center are in Jacksonville, Florida, with an office and showroom in Hong Kong. Ja-Ru has over 150 employees worldwide, with more than 100 employees in the United States. Ja-Ru offers its customers superior products with excellent service.

In addition to selling in every state in the U.S.A., Ja-Ru ships to over 35 countries worldwide. This is why Ja-Ru can proudly say; it is rare to go into any retailer anywhere in the world and not find a Ja-Ru toy.
